Quick hit: I’m writing from Wayne State University in Detroit, where media activists, media producers and media scholars will converge for the Allied Media Conference.
Tomorrow, I will be representing Women In Media & News at a groundbreaking gathering of women journalists, media justice activists, academics and cultural producers at the Women’s Media Equity Summit. Co-organized by WIMN’s Voices blogger Shireen Mitchell, the Summit aims to build collaborations, share resources and vision towards the creation of a long-term sustainability of the women’s media justice sector.
I will live blog news of the Summit, so check in throughout the day on Thursday; Shireen will also likely be liveblogging (if she can overcome a wifi snafu that has prevented her from getting online today). I’ll also aim to report back from various panels and breakout sessions throughout the AMC between Thursday and Sunday.
