Mikhaela Reid's Biography

Mikhaela B. Reid is a political cartoonist, illustrator and information graphics artist. Her work has appeared in The Boston Phoenix, In These Times, Ms., The Funny Times, Campus Progress, The Rochester Insider, Bay Windows, WomensENews.org, Girlfriends, and other publications. She is also featured as "cartooning's angry young woman" in the anthology Attitude 2: The New Subversive Alternative Cartoonists (NBM Press), edited by Ted Rall. Her weekly cartoons are available in color or black and white for reprint in print and online publications. Ted Rall calls her “one of America's sharpest political cartoonists” – you can read what other comics luminaries have to say about her – and view her cartoons and blog – at http://www.mikhaela.net. Mikhaela was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, where she attended Lowell High School and served as president of the Lowell High School Rainbow Connection Gay/Straight Alliance. More recently, she graduated from Harvard University, where she studied social anthropology and photography and did weekly political cartoons for the Harvard Crimson. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
