In recent weeks, much speculation has been made in the media about how women will be voting in November, for whom, and why. Yet too often the press has focused on superficial, inaccurate or trivializing notions of women’s electoral needs and habits. This week, media had the opportunity to deepen the conversation.
Yesterday Feminist Majority […]

A huge Media House has decided to follow (us) bloggers, twitters, podcasters and others to the conventions. C-Span has finally joined the social media community in a big way. They will be creating hubs for the Democratic and Republican conventions. Bloggers (Citizen Journalists) will have access to videos for embedding and a place to link to sources for the “on the ground” stories.

I was lucky enough to be invited to talk about the issues of poverty, digital divide, and what social media advocates could do about it. This is a very important issue to me because I work on poverty and the internet everyday. Some interesting developments in social media, the political elections, tech policies & government […]

The other day, I participated in a debate on San Francisco’s KPFA “The Morning Show” , a discussion about, among other things, how Hillary Clinton will participate in the campaign ahead, the role of media sexism up until now, differences between feminist who supported Clinton and feminists who supported Barack Obama, and more.
Host Aimee […]

Note: I wrote this op-ed with Adele M. Stan, hoping to respond in the Washington Post’s Outlook section. That didn’t happen, so instead, we wanted to share our thoughts with you, readers of WIMN’s Voices. We’d love to hear your feedback in the comments.
Feminism is a failure. Just ask Linda Hirshman, who used a hefty […]
