National Hispanic Media Coalition Inquiry on the Role of Media In Hate Crimes

Earlier this week, the National Hispanic Media Coalition submitted the following letter to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, regarding the role of telecom in hate crimes. Once more with feeling: Media Must Report Gender Motivation for Mass Shootings

A health club in Collier County, PA this week was the site of yet another horrific mass shooting by yet another disaffected man armed with ammo and a deep hatred of women. Gerald Gardner’s research helped end gender-segregated ads

I found my first job in 1963 by looking through the “jobs for women” section of the classified ads in the local Colorado Springs newspapers. It would take another decade for those gender-segregated ads to disappear, and then only because National Organization for Women had filed its landmark complaint against the now defunct Pittsburgh Press . That case went would go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and result in the 1973 ruling saying the practice was illegal.
